Full Job Description
The essential function of the position within the organization is to perform complex professional Transportation and Traffic engineering work in the research, design, development, review and coordination of County Traffic Operations and Traffic Engineering. This includes Traffic Signals, Signage and Striping review and oversight associated with road, trail, sidewalks, and land development projects. The position is responsible for supervising subordinate staff and overseeing Traffic Operations; serving as project manager; coordinating grant projects; serving as liaison to the public, boards and commissions, and other agencies as necessary; and performing related professional, administrative, technical and supervisory work as assigned. The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering or a closely related field.

Florida Professional Engineers License preferred.

Requires a valid Florida driver's license.

Requires three years of related experience to traffic and transportation.
