SeniorIntelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Traffic Engineer to join our expanding Transportation Systems Group in the Southeast region with hybrid opportunities in Orlando FL. In this role, you'll be a key contributor to the planning, documentation, design, and construction support of advanced ITS infrastructure and traffic design.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead the development of ITS/ATMS and traffic signal design plans
- Perform traffic engineering and task management to deliver a wide variety of traffic engineering and ITS/ATMS projects
- Prepare technical specifications and construction cost estimates
- Develop electrical one-line diagrams and conduct electrical system calculations, including voltage drop, arc flash, and short circuit analyses
- Prepare Power Design Analysis Reports for ITS infrastructure
- Create communication diagrams and fiber/copper splicing plans
- Develop key systems engineering documentation, including:
- Concept of Operations (ConOps)
- Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMP)
- Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM)
- Conduct field work such as data collection and site investigations
- Coordinate with clients, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support business development and marketing efforts
- Manage and mentor junior staff in the successful delivery of project tasks
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES- Experience in ITS design and/or system development which could include:
- Traffic signal plans
- Communication plans
- Network planning/architecture
- Proficient with data analysis tools such as Excel
- Familiarity with design platforms including OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, and AutoCAD
- Excellent communication skills-written, verbal, and interpersonal
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
- Self-driven with a strong work ethic and passion for continuous learning
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work on time
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Systems, or Electrical Engineering required; a focus in the field of Transportation is preferred
- A Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of professional experience
- 8-11+ years of ITS engineering experience required
- Familiarity with state DOT processes and standards preferred
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
