About the role you are considering
We are seeking a Senior Automation Test Lead who is passionate about quality engineering and has deep hands-on expertise in modern test automation frameworks, particularly Playwright and Karate. This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive automation strategy while actively contributing to test design, development, and execution across API and integrated application landscapes.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of enterprise applications by implementing robust automation solutions, improving test coverage, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Your role
- Lead automation testing initiatives with a strong focus on Playwright and Karate frameworks.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated and functional test cases for REST and SOAP APIs to validate business requirements, data integrity, and system behavior.
- Perform comprehensive API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, and Karate, validating request/response payloads, status codes, headers, security, and error-handling scenarios.
- Analyze API specifications, business requirements, and system integrations to identify test scenarios and ensure end-to-end test coverage.
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks, reusable components, and testing best practices to improve quality and efficiency.
- Participate in test planning, regression testing, integration testing, and release validation activities.Log, track, troubleshoot, and verify defects while partnering closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders.
- Review test execution results, provide quality metrics, and communicate testing progress and risks to leadership teams.
- Maintain test documentation, test artifacts, automation reports, and knowledge repositories.
- Mentor and guide automation engineers while fostering a quality-first engineering culture.
Your Skills and experience
- 10+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.Proven expertise in Playwright and Karate, with the ability to design and implement scalable automation frameworks.
- Strong hands-on experience in API testing for REST and SOAP services.
- Proficiency with API testing and validation tools including Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, and Karate.
- Strong understanding of API protocols, request/response structures, authentication mechanisms, headers, status codes, and error handling.
- Experience in developing automated API test suites and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid knowledge of test planning, regression testing, integration testing, defect management, and test reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and drive resolutions.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $73,150 - $174,000.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
