Crawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking a Utility Coordination Specialist to join the Surface Transportation team in St. Charles, MO.
As a
Utility Coordination Specialist, you'll play a key role in design and construction projects. The selected candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities, the ability to work as a team member or independently, and the desire to learn new skills and areas of expertise, and the experience and utility relationships that will assist CMT in winning projects.
What you will do:With support, coaching, and direction from CMT's Surface Transportation Managers and technical leaders, you will serve the firm in the following capacities:
- Perform and lead on-site utility coordination services including supervising and directing junior staff in support of project managers
- Assist in business development opportunities to win civil engineering projects with utility coordination.
- Serve as the engineer's on-site liaison with utility companies, contractors and clients and assist the clients when required for proper execution of the work
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute required documentation in accordance with client and company procedures
- Secondary assignments may include assistance with planning and design of civil & transportation projects.
- Typical projects require the understanding and implementation of construction documents (plans & specifications) including horizontal and vertical layout, site development, grading, drainage, asphalt & concrete paving, pavement marking, signage, erosion control, coordination with other disciplines, water & sanitary utilities, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and construction scheduling
Here is what you'll need:- High School diploma/GED plus equivalent field work experience required
- 18 plus years of experience in utility coordination or related field required
- Strong relationships with some existing clients and utility partners
- Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
- Possess general knowledge and understanding of the utility coordination on transportation, site development, and civil infrastructure projects including the ability to clarify and interpret construction documents
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Strong ability to manage personnel and delegate tasks
- Strong to work independently and able to effectively manage time and work on multiple projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Must be willing to accept out of town travel assignments and work overtime to meet project demands
- Must have valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record with access to transportation
- Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Successful completion of a security background check which requires employment history, verification and criminal history records checks (if applicable) of individuals applying for security badges
- Demonstrated responsiveness, professionalism, and teamwork
Ideally, you will also have:- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is desired; Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered

The expected compensation range for this position is
$80,000 - $120,000 annually. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location.
