Our St. Louis Water Resources Group is actively looking to hire for the Group Manager position. The ideal candidate for this position brings a solid technical foundation, strong personnel skills, and a passion for managing both people and clients.

We are looking for a 10+ year individual who can help build on a foundation already established by the CMT Water Resources team. While there is an emphasis on an individual who understands our traditional water work, we will also strongly consider backgrounds in Aviation, Surface Transportation, and Site Services, given the diversity of work delivered and the strong market potential of this office.
The Group Manager 1 leads collections of teams led by other managers - often organized by discipline and geography. They will be responsible for the overall performance of a team of people.
What you will do:Group Manager responsibilities fall into four main functions:
- Professional Learning, Growth, and Development
- Create, maintain, and implement staff technical development plan
- Maintain and facilitate the implementation of employee staffing plan
- Conduct regular 1-on-1 HS/HS meetings with staff
- Conduct career planning discussions
- Monitor and facilitate effective task delegation from PM to technical staff
- Marketing and Business Development
- Create and maintain a group-level business development plan
- Participate in Unit/Geographic business development strategy and cross marketing
- Identify and monitor changes in client satisfaction, expectations and services
- Monitor group-level weighted pipeline
- Maintain 3-year growth strategy
- Oversee pursuit GNG and win strategy development
- Align group initiatives with corporate strategic plan
- Financial and Operational Health
- Develop and monitor annual action plan
- Develop and review annual group budget
- Monitor income statement and operational metrics
- Monitor balance sheet operational metrics
- Review backlog and book-to-burn rates
- Oversee contract review including type, terms, and requirements
- Project Quality and Delivery Oversight
- Monitor adherence to quality assurance requirements
- Identify, monitor, and elevate potential risks and claims
- Facilitate group lessons learned and continuous improvement discussions
- Monitor adherence to project schedules
- Review and adjust project resource plans to optimize staff utilization
- Coordinate resource allocation with BUD and other groups
Here is what you'll need:- Bachelor's degree is required
- Professional license or certification is preferred
- 10+ years of progressive industry experience is preferred

- Knowledge of quality assurance procedures
- Advanced communication and organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Deltek Vantagepoint, Canopy
- Ability to accept out of town travel assignments and work overtime to meet group demands
- Valid U.S. Driver's License preferred to visit project sites, clients, and other CMT offices when public transportation is not available
Physical Requirements:- Office tasks: Physical requirements are minimal and include prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Travel to different locations can involve sitting for extended periods

The expected compensation range for this position is
$100,000-$150,000 annually. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location.
