Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is seeking an accomplished Program/Project Manager Consultant to lead large, complex, multi-year initiatives within the CBB and Core Platforms Technology organization. This role provides end-to-end leadership from initial concept through implementation and post-implementation, aligning business objectives, technology delivery, risk management, and organizational readiness to achieve measurable outcomes.
The consultant directs cross-functional teams, coordinates interdependent workstreams and shared resources, and partners with sponsoring executives, business leaders, product teams, engineering teams, risk partners, and vendors. The role establishes governance, removes delivery barriers, clarifies acceptable risk, and communicates complex information effectively to audiences up to and including the Senior Vice Chair.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram and Project Leadership- Lead multiple concurrent programs and projects from initiation through implementation and post-implementation.
- Define scope, objectives, success measures, delivery strategies, and integrated plans aligned with CBB and Core Platforms Technology priorities.
- Coordinate milestones, dependencies, implementation cycles, shared resources, and cross-functional execution.
- Drive accountability for delivery within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk parameters.
Stakeholder Management- Build trusted relationships with sponsoring executives, business leaders, product and engineering teams, risk partners, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
- Facilitate timely decisions, resolve conflicts, align priorities, and remove obstacles that affect delivery.
- Prepare clear, concise, and relevant status reports, governance materials, and executive presentations tailored to the audience.
- Serve as a liaison across organizations to maintain alignment on outcomes, risks, and commitments.
Governance and Risk Management- Establish and maintain governance, decision-making forums, reporting standards, change controls, and escalation paths.
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Monitor program health, delivery performance, scope changes, and adherence to organizational policies and methodologies.
- Escalate concerns with clear options, recommendations, and impacts to support informed decisions.
Financial and Resource Management- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, resource plans, and capacity needs.
- Partner with resource managers to secure the knowledge, skills, and staffing required for successful delivery.
- Oversee vendor engagements, contracts, and third-party dependencies.
- Optimize the use of resources while maintaining delivery commitments and controls.
Organizational Change and Continuous Improvement- Integrate business readiness, change management, communications, and adoption activities into delivery plans.
- Improve program management practices, tools, governance, and delivery processes.
- Coach team members in planning disciplines and promote collaboration, accountability, and consistent execution.
Success Measures
- Programs and projects achieve committed business and technology outcomes within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk parameters.
- Governance enables timely decisions, transparent reporting, and effective escalation.
- Risks and dependencies are identified early and managed proactively.
- Stakeholders remain aligned, informed, and prepared for implementation and adoption.
- Delivery practices and organizational capabilities improve over time.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 10 years' experience with tools and techniques for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling IT projects.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience leading technology transformation, platform modernization, or integration initiatives in a large, matrixed organization.
- Working knowledge of modern technology architecture, software development lifecycles, and Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches.
- Financial services experience, preferably within consumer and business banking, core banking platforms, payments, data, risk, or other regulated technology environments.
- Ability to translate complex business and technical information into actionable insights and compelling executive-level communications.
- Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and establish productive relationships across business, technology, and control functions.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00
