Senior Technical Associate for Derivatives (SS&C Technologies, Inc.; Windsor, CT): SS&C is a global leader in investment management software and outsourcing services for the financial services industry. Our clients include some of the largest Insurance Companies, Asset Managers, Agency Lenders, Commercial Mortgage Banking Firms, Banks and REITs in the world. This position is for a vital member of the Derivatives Professional Services Group, which provides consulting and client support services for SS&C Technologies’ Debt & Derivatives (D&D) and Singularity applications. D&D is a comprehensive mid-to-back-office processing and accounting solution for all issued debt and derivative life-cycle events. Singularity is our new, next generation platform covering multiple asset classes. Clients include insurance companies, hedge funds, banks and corporate entities. It is the role of the Senior Technical Associate for Derivatives within the Professional Services Group to ensure a best-in-class user experience. Our clients’ needs constantly evolve with new products, regulatory changes, and revised accounting standards. It is the role of the Professional Services Group to ensure that system functionality and user satisfaction remain consistently high. The ultimate task of the Professional Services Group is to be an advocate for the user while working as a liaison between clients and the D&D / Singularity development teams. This role supports the Client Services team with deployments, file load, database management and acts as a liaison with internal IT. Specific responsibilities include: Coordinate DevOps support for the derivatives client services team. Database management. Web\Application deployments. Technical proficiency to act as a liaison with internal IT resources. Review / understand the lifecycle events of common derivatives transactions in SS&C and Client applications as needed. Relationship management, influencing and negotiating skills. Drafting technical documentation. Work independently within an AGILE development methodology / contribute to project management. Proactively maintain a current understating of economics and markets. Scripting data as needed for dev-ops support. Post-deployment monitoring and alerting setup. Telecommuting permitted.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Math, Computer Science or related discipline, plus 2 years of work experience in a related role with a FinTech company.

Must have: Strong knowledge of software development, database management and application deployments. Proficiency querying, analyzing, scripting, and managing data using MS SQL. Understand Singularity table structures for optimizing or trouble shooting trade load / automation. General proficiency with MS Windows, MS Office, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, SSMS, ServiceNow, Git, and Bloomberg. Understanding of systems integration and automation. Some experience with AGILE development methodology / project management. Strong communicator who can relate technical issues to non-technical staff. Some experience drafting technical documentation. Self-starter who can perform with limited supervision.
