The Senior Technical Asset Manager will lead the technical asset management function for Pacifico's expanding thermal generation portfolio, starting with Cedar Creek Phase 1 (a large-scale off-grid, islanded gas-fired facility with BESS serving behind-the-meter data-center load in Bastrop County, TX). The role owns the owner-side technical relationship with OEMs, LTSA providers, and the Independent Engineer, and is a senior technical voice inside Pacifico Asset Management.
What you get to do: - Own the owner-side technical governance of the long-term service agreements (LTSAs) with the turbine OEMs (Ansaldo Energia, Baker Hughes, Solar Turbine) and the BESS service provider. Set annual performance objectives, review OEM deliverables, and enforce contract obligations.
- Serve as Pacifico's technical interface to the Independent Engineer (Black & Veatch) during construction, commissioning, and operations. Own the technical narrative for lender reporting.
- Represent Pacifico on-site at major outages, hot-gas-path inspections, generator inspections, and unit provisional-acceptance tests. Engage specialty engineering firms on T&M for deep technical scope as needed.
- Govern plant performance, availability, and reliability - including monthly performance reviews, root-cause analysis of forced outages and derates, and continuous-improvement actions across the fleet.
- Oversee the CMMS / reliability program in coordination with the O&M contractor: PM optimization, spare-parts strategy, criticality classifications, and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Own technical KPI settlement with the O&M contractor in coordination with the O&M / Operations Readiness Manager (availability, starts reliability, heat rate, and reliability metrics).
- Support the Director of Asset Management on technical review of contract amendments, change orders, warranty claims, and disputes with LTSA providers and OEMs.
- Own the technical risk register: identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks; escalate material issues to the Director and the Management Committee.
- Coordinate the interface between the O&M contractor, LTSA providers, and Pacifico Development / EPC during the construction-to-operations transition and phased commercial operation.
- Support the Commercial and Performance Analyst on plant-performance analytics, heat-rate monitoring, and degradation management.
- Support the Cybersecurity and OT Owner on operational-technology issues affecting technical availability.
- Support senior management on ad-hoc technical requests, including due diligence for future Pacifico projects.
- 8+ years of prior experience in technical asset management, plant engineering, or reliability engineering at a thermal generation IPP, utility, OEM, or O&M service provider. Gas turbine experience required.
- Direct experience managing or administering long-term service agreements (LTSAs) with turbine OEMs (Ansaldo, GE, Siemens, Baker Hughes, Solar Turbines, or comparable). LTSA negotiation experience is not required.
- Strong understanding of gas turbine performance, availability engineering, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and root-cause analysis.
- Experience representing an owner (or an OEM equivalent) on-site during major outages, provisional-acceptance testing, and warranty administration.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Drive and enthusiasm, strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the company's business.
- Team player and able to effectively interact with other team members (including other departments such as construction, engineering, and commercial).
- Willingness to travel to the Cedar Creek site in Bastrop County, TX as required, including extended presence during major outages and commissioning phases.
Preferred Qualifications
- BESS asset management or reliability experience.
- Exposure to, or willingness to develop, lender-facing technical reporting and Independent Engineer processes for project-financed power generation.
- Familiarity with behind-the-meter, islanded, or microgrid-type configurations serving data-center or industrial load.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
