What You'll Do

We are seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and hands-on Senior Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax Department. This role will work closely with and support the Tax Head in executing critical internal and domestic tax functions, including ASC 740 tax provision calculations, federal and state compliance, global reporting, tax audit defense, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate is an experienced corporate tax professional who thrives in a dynamic multinational environment, possesses strong technical tax expertise, and enjoys collaborative, hands-on involvement in end-to-end tax processes, global reporting, and workpaper preparation.

Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose, CA in alignment with our Flexible Work policy

Reports to:
  • Directly prepare, calculate, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual ASC 740 income tax provision workpapers, journal entries, and tax account reconciliations.
  • Manage and draft comprehensive tax disclosures for financial statements, including valuation allowance evaluations and uncertain tax position (FIN 48 / ASC 740-10) documentation.
  • Coordinate and drive tax closing processes in close alignment with corporate accounting and financial reporting teams.
  • Support the operational execution, compliance, and ongoing monitoring of Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) (bilateral).
  • Prepare annual APA compliance reports, true-up calculations, and supporting documentation required by taxing authorities (e.g., IRS, NTS).
  • Collaborate with global tax teams, economists, and external advisors to gather operational data, perform financial modeling, and maintain intercompany transfer pricing documentation.
  • Monitor intercompany transactions and profit margins across business units to ensure strict alignment with APA terms and transfer pricing methodologies.
  • Lead the direct preparation, review, and timely filing of federal, state, and local income/franchise tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimated tax payments for SSI.
  • Prepare detailed tax workpapers, state apportionment schedules, and state-specific taxable income adjustments.
  • Manage state tax registrations, nexus determinations, annual report filings, and tax withholding reconciliations.
  • Perform data gathering, financial modeling, and hands-on calculations for OECD Pillar II global minimum tax compliance.
  • Prepare, assemble, and validate Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) datasets, supporting workpapers, and annual XML reporting submissions.

What You Bring
  • Serve as the primary operational lead on tax audits by directly gathering supporting data, performing tax research, and drafting responses to Information Document Requests (IDRs) from the IRS and state taxing authorities.
  • Reconcile tax positions, maintain thorough audit defense documentation, and substantiate historical filings and transfer pricing positions.
  • Prepare internal tax compliance reports, executive presentations, and technical tax memorandums for management.
  • Maintain and ensure adherence to internal controls over financial reporting for all tax and transfer pricing functions.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline data collection, automate tax workpapers, and maintain the corporate tax compliance calendar.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field (Master's in Taxation / MST or MBA preferred).
  • Certifications: CPA license preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive corporate tax experience in a public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred) and/or a multinational corporate tax department.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong hands-on expertise in ASC 740 tax accounting, corporate federal income tax, and multi-state taxation (SALT).
    • Direct experience with Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs), transfer pricing compliance, and intercompany accounting.
    • Working knowledge of international tax frameworks, including Pillar II and CbCR requirements.
    • Experience leading or actively supporting federal and state tax audits and controversy.
    • Systems & Tools: Proficiency in corporate ERP systems (SAP preferred), tax compliance/provision software (OneSource, CorpTax, or similar), and advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills.
    • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, proactive mindset, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
