Job Summary

ISCorp is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support our Windows and Linux infrastructure across multiple customer and ISV environments. This is a senior, customer-facing role responsible for system administration, application infrastructure support, virtualization, automation, security, monitoring, documentation, and operational support. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across technologies, can communicate technical issues in clear business terms, and can independently drive issues and projects through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Windows Systems Administration: Install, configure, maintain, patch, troubleshoot, and optimize supported Windows Server and desktop operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, and related Microsoft infrastructure.
  • Linux Systems Administration: Install, configure, maintain, patch, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux servers, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other supported enterprise distributions.
  • Application & ISV Support: Deploy, configure, and support ISV applications and their underlying operating-system services, middleware, web components, and application dependencies.
  • Application Virtualization & Remote Access: Support technologies such as Citrix, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, and Parallels RAS, including application publishing, connectivity, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Virtualization & Cloud: Administer and support virtualized infrastructure such as VMware and KVM and work with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud as required.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain repeatable automation using PowerShell, Windows command line, Bash, Python, Ansible, and related tools for deployment, patching, validation, and operational tasks.
  • Monitoring & Performance: Implement and use monitoring practices and tools to proactively identify availability, capacity, and performance issues across hosted systems and applications.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply information-security best practices, system hardening, patching, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and operational controls consistent with company and customer requirements.
  • Backup, Recovery & Storage: Support backup and recovery technologies for files, systems, and databases and work with SAN, NAS, and other enterprise storage solutions.
  • Networking & Connectivity: Troubleshoot systems-level networking issues involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, and application connectivity in coordination with network teams.
  • Database & Middleware Support: Provide systems-level support for Microsoft SQL Server and environments using Progress OpenEdge, MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle, Tomcat, and other commercial application components.
  • Customer & ISV Engagement: Serve as a senior technical point of contact for customers and ISVs, communicate clearly during incidents and projects, and translate technical issues into non-technical terms when needed.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with network, database, storage, security, service delivery, product, and project teams to design, implement, troubleshoot, and support customer solutions.
  • Project & Product Delivery: Participate in infrastructure planning, onboarding, migrations, upgrades, lifecycle activities, and rollout of new and existing ISV solutions.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation procedures, runbooks, recovery procedures, support standards, and knowledge-base articles.
  • Operational Support: Participate in production support, incident response, maintenance activities, and an on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on systems administration experience in a customer-facing, hosted-services, MSP/ASP, enterprise, or similarly complex environment.
  • Strong administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server and enterprise Linux environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows services, Linux services, permissions, patching, troubleshooting, and system lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and common application connectivity patterns.
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware and/or KVM.
  • Strong scripting and automation capability using PowerShell and at least one Linux-oriented scripting or automation technology such as Bash, Python, or Ansible.
  • Experience supporting web/application server technologies such as IIS, Tomcat, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation and follow structured change, incident, and operational procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to customers in non-technical terms.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, quickly learn new technologies, prioritize competing demands, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related discipline, and/or equivalent relevant work experience.


Preferred Experience

  • Microsoft SQL Server administration or systems support.
  • Citrix, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, and/or Parallels RAS.
  • Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud.
  • Progress OpenEdge, MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle, or other database technologies.
  • Enterprise backup, disaster recovery, storage, and business-continuity technologies.
  • Commercial-grade firewalls and security platforms.
  • ERP software or other business-critical hosted applications.
  • Infrastructure as Code and automation platforms such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Project management, ITIL, Agile/Scrum, or product lifecycle practices.
  • Relevant Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, cloud, or security certifications.


Work Environment

  • Hybrid Work Model: Combination of remote work and on-site responsibilities based on operational and project needs.
  • Customer-Facing Role: Regular interaction with customers, ISVs, and internal delivery teams.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participation in after-hours support and maintenance activities as required.
