Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Sr Strategic Operations Associate to join the Earner Marketplace & Matching team within Uber's US & Canada Mobility business.

The Earner Marketplace & Matching team tackles some of Uber's most interesting marketplace optimization challenges. We shape the earner side of the marketplace through driver pricing, incentives, positioning, matching, and other marketplace levers-balancing reliability and efficiency today while supporting a healthy driver experience and sustainable supply over the long term.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of marketplace strategy, analytics, and technology. Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations, you will help launch and optimize sophisticated pricing and matching capabilities, investigate complex marketplace dynamics, and identify opportunities to improve how the marketplace works for drivers, riders, and Uber.

This is a highly analytical role in a complex, interconnected marketplace where changes in one area can have meaningful effects elsewhere. You will dig into large datasets, develop hypotheses, evaluate experiments and tradeoffs, and turn your findings into recommendations that shape real business and technology decisions. The ideal candidate enjoys getting deep into difficult problems, connecting the dots across systems, and working with others to turn insights into impact.

What You Will Do
Driver Pricing & Matching: Play a key role in shaping how Uber's Driver Pricing and Matching capabilities evolve and perform. Support major launches, identify opportunities to improve marketplace efficiency and reliability, and partner with Product and Tech teams to turn marketplace insights into meaningful improvements for drivers and riders.

Marketplace performance: Develop a deep understanding of marketplace health and the performance of Driver Pricing and Matching. Spot emerging trends and opportunities, lead deep-dive investigations to understand what's driving them, and translate your findings into clear recommendations and action.

Data-driven decision making: Use data to unpack complex marketplace dynamics, test hypotheses, and inform important decisions. Evaluate experiments and rollout plans, understand how pricing, matching, incentives, and other marketplace levers interact, and anticipate the broader effects of changes across the marketplace.

Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations to bring new marketplace capabilities to life and continuously improve existing ones. Bring a strong business and Operations perspective to technical problems, help teams navigate tradeoffs, and drive initiatives from analysis through execution.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Operations, Product Management, Analytics, Strategy, or a related field. Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments is a plus.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data and analytical tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, or BI tools to derive actionable insights and inform decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Problem solving: Enjoys tackling complex, ambiguous problems, structuring them clearly, and developing thoughtful, data-backed recommendations.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex ideas clear to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stakeholder management: Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships, influence without formal authority, and drive progress across multiple teams.
  • Strategic mindset: Ability to dive deep into the details while connecting individual decisions and marketplace levers to broader business outcomes.
