Senior Storage Program Manager

Job Family Definition:

Provides support and/or leads teams through the product development lifecycle process and implementation of HPE Storage products. Projects are typically shorter-term, and less complex efforts with defined time frames. Programs are typically longer-term, focused efforts with defined deliverables and may span multiple functions, projects, and release activities across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, services, quality, product management, and go-to-market teams. Manages activities, resource capability, schedules, budgets, and cross-company communications to facilitate product delivery on schedule and within budget. Works with PMO management and cross-functional stakeholders to improve process and program efficiency. Work can involve external parties such as OEM partners, standards bodies, suppliers, and others.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex program and business issues, recommends alternatives where needed, and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Partners with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, services, quality, product management, and other functional and technical teams to drive Storage program execution, manage dependencies and risks, resolve schedule, readiness, and operational issues, support sustaining activities, and determine the best approach for achieving objectives through significant independent judgment. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.

US Citizenship required

Hybrid role: The HPE employee will have to travel to the Houston campus 2 times a week.

Responsibilities:

• This position will report into the HPE Storage Program Management Office (PMO) within the Hybrid Cloud organization.
• Manages and leads one or more programs involving multiple functions and project teams to drive the product offering and implementation process for a product or service offering.
• Responsible for creating schedules, ensuring alignment and the successful execution of critical deliverables within schedule timeframes.
• Responsible for managing program budget, resource allocation plan, and other supporting requirements for delivery of the program objectives.
• Manage the activities of the project teams, internal and external partners to ensures progress against established plan and makes determinations based on analysis of business information to alter or update schedule and resource allocation to meet program requirements and schedule.
• Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management and internal manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules
• Drive innovation and the integration of new technologies and initiatives into the program and activities to gain efficiencies and produce results.
• Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive experience with using Smartsheet and other program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track program results.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing very large matrixed teams and resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language required.
• Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
• Ability to escalate issues appropriately and negotiate options across management and partner teams.
• Operates in a highly independent manner with minimal guidance required.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or Information Systems Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
• PMP/PMI certification preferred.
• Typically 6-10 years experience as a program manager
