Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Stock Plan Manager to manage and advance DigitalOcean's equity compensation strategy and global stock plan operations. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of our equity plans, ensuring our programs run with precision and scale effectively as we grow.

The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on experience leading equity and ESPP programs at fast-scaling, publicly-traded technology companies. You bring both the technical expertise to operate in the details and the strategic perspective to advise leadership.
What You'll Do:
  • Own the Lifecycle: Lead end-to-end global equity and ESPP lifecycle operations (grant processing, RSU vesting/settlements, stock option exercises, cancellations, ESPP enrollment/purchases) to guarantee flawless execution and a seamless participant experience
  • Optimize Systems: Design, implement, and automate stock plan workflows across multi-system environments (Workday, ADP, Fidelity) to maximize efficiency and eliminate manual errors
  • Ensure Compliance & SOX: Architect a rigid internal control framework and drive comprehensive equity reconciliations to ensure 100% data integrity and continuous SOX compliance
  • Cross-Functional Partnering: Partner strategically with Legal, Finance, and Corporate Tax to support Section 16 filings, resolve highly complex data anomalies, and accurately model stock-based compensation expenses (ASC 718)
  • Global Tax & Mobility: Navigate global regulatory updates and tax mobility frameworks to proactively ensure international compliance while mitigating tax and legal risk
  • Executive Support: Serve as a subject-matter expert on DO's stock plans, collaborating with executive stakeholders to prepare Compensation Committee materials and proxy equity tables
  • Employee Education: Develop and execute scalable employee equity education programs (webinars, FAQs, etc.) to demystify complex equity structures and maximize the perceived value of Total Rewards
What You'll Add to DigitalOcean:
  • Technical Breadth: Proven experience leading complex equity and ESPP programs at a global, fast-scaling, publicly-traded tech company; hands-on mastery of Fidelity PSW and a Certified Equity Professional (CEP) Level 3 designation are strongly preferred
  • Advanced Analytical Mastery: Expert command of Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, complex logic formulas, xlookup/vlookup) with an uncompromising commitment to zero-error execution
  • Strategic Problem Solving: A proven track record of breaking down complex, ambiguous data issues across multi-system environments and engineering scalable, automated compliance solutions
  • High Relational Intelligence: The ability to communicate intricate financial narratives simply, build cross-departmental alignment, and serve as a trusted resource for employees
  • Growth Mindset: A proactive, continuous-improvement mentality with a dedication to leaving processes better than you found them
Compensation Range:
  • $120,800 - $151,000
