Summary:

Our Sr Staff Engineers work with engineers and engineering leaders to innovate and build new systems, improve and enhance existing systems as well as identify new opportunities to apply their knowledge to solve critical problems. As a Sr. Staff Engineer, you'll lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap for modernization of our Payments Platform. You will work across the team to build scalable, resilient, and modern systems while mentoring engineers and establishing high standard for technical decision making and team performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the architecture, development and delivery of capabilities on our Payments Platform, meeting goals for security, resilience, compliance and correctness
  • Be a role model in leveraging AI to increase velocity, while raising the bar on engineering and operational excellence
  • Drive improvements to practices and culture for a high performing engineering organization
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the payments engineering domain and making recommendations for adoption.
  • Triage and resolve service disruptions and build industry standard mechanism for prevention and self-healing.
  • Influence and educate technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.


Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering payments, financial or highly regulated systems
  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and governance practices in the payments industry
  • Deep hands-on experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
  • Strong analytical skills, a product mindset and ownership to identify problems, understand motivations, create practical solutions, and drive progress.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership and collaboration skills


Experience:
  • 12+ years in software development with Go or Java frameworks.
  • 10+ years in architecture and system design with a data-intensive applications.
  • 8+ years with cloud-native systems, CNCF frameworks and distributed data stores
  • Experience with payment systems and financial reporting is highly preferred.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Annual Salary
$120,000.00 - $260,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
