SENIOR SPECIALIST, RISKS, ETHICS & COMPLIANCE (FIXED-TERM, 8 MONTHS)

Position

Senior Specialist, Risks, Ethics & Compliance (Fixed-Term, 8 months)

Introduction

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Risk, Ethics & Compliance, the Senior Specialist provides analytical, operational, and administrative support for the execution and continuous improvement of the Company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Ethics & Compliance programs. The role assists with enterprise-wide risk assessments, compliance program initiatives, third-party due diligence activities, investigations, training programs, and the preparation of reports and materials for senior management and the Audit Committee of the Board.

This position requires strong collaboration with operational site leadership and corporate functions to ensure that risk management and compliance practices are embedded into business processes and decision-making.

Location

This is a full-time position based at B2Gold's Corporate Office in Vancouver, Canada. The role follows our hybrid work model of four days in-office and one day remote each week.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
  • Support the quarterly ERM cycle, including risk interviews, consolidation of inputs across sites and functions, and preparation of risk reports for management and the Audit Committee.
  • Maintain and continuously improve enterprise risk registers, ensuring risks, controls, and mitigation plans are complete, accurate, and aligned with the corporate risk framework.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and annual workshops, and analyze risk data to identify emerging risks, trends, and mitigation actions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of ERM frameworks, tools, policies, and procedures consistent with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed risk management practices into operational decision-making and planning processes.


Ethics & Compliance
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Ethics & Compliance Program, including Code of Ethics & Business Conduct, Anti-Corruption Program, and Third-Party Due Diligence process.
  • Conduct and support risk-based due diligence, compliance reviews, and internal investigations, in coordination with Legal, HR, Supply Chain and key functions.
  • Administer key program elements, including the Ethics Helpline, compliance certifications, and conflict of interest disclosures.
  • Monitor and report on compliance metrics, investigations, and remediation actions, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of issues.
  • Maintain and enhance policies, procedures, and controls to align with evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed compliance requirements into business processes, including third-party onboarding and contracting.
  • Develop and deliver training and awareness initiatives to promote ethical behavior and strengthen a risk-based culture across sites and corporate functions.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or a related field;
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, or a related discipline;
  • Professional certifications such as CRMA, CIA, CCEP, CRCM, CAMS, or equivalent are considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated experience in risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting;
  • Experience supporting or participating in investigations, remediation, or compliance reviews is an asset;
  • Experience developing or delivering training and awareness programs is an asset;
  • Experience with governance, risk and compliance (GRC) systems, third-party due diligence platforms, case management tools, or data visualization software (e.g., Power BI) is considered an asset;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios and develop practical solutions;
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and sanctions);
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions;
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, executive-level reports;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships;
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information; and,
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with risk or compliance systems is an asset.


Additional Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a global or multi-site organization, preferably within the mining, natural resources, engineering, or other highly regulated industries; and,
  • Proficiency in additional languages, particularly French or Spanish, is considered an asset.


Job Demands/Physical Requirements:
  • This position will be based at B2Gold's corporate office in Vancouver, Canada, with a hybrid work arrangement (4 days on site + 1 day working from home).;
  • Travel: This position is based out of our Vancouver head office on a full-time with frequent domestic and international travels required (~10% of the time) which may be in short notice.
