The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Specialist, S&OP and Commercial Analytics to join our Commercial team in Toronto or Sudbury.

This is a permanent hybrid position.

As the Senior Specialist, S&OP and Commercial Analytics, you will lead the implementation and maintenance of digital technology to manage, analyze and communicate plans and results for the Base Metals business (production and sales) systems and the data they contain fall within the responsibility of this role. This includes multi-annual capital and operational project planning, budgeting and execution in partnership with Information Technology.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Act as the focal point for commercial projects, ensuring alignment with Commercial needs.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial department to manage the Commercial IT Budget and advance the project portfolio.
  • Stay current on technology to enhance the S&OP process's accuracy, efficiency, and value.
  • Lead the implementation of AI within planning and sales processes.
  • Maintain systems for data governance, integration, and quality management.
  • Support IT-related requests from stakeholders (Operations, Finance) to ensure alignment with Commercial strategy.
  • Develop and maintain systems for global adherence to data governance policy and act as SME for data analysis and visualization platforms.
  • Maintain understanding of VBM Production and Sales (S&OP) strategy to enable recommendations on visualization strategy.


About You

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

Experience:
  • 15+ years of similar work experience

Skills:
  • Solid understanding of Operations and Commercial processes.
  • Proven track record of cross-departmental process implementation with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to stay current with software capabilities.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in data management and reporting software.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical and commercial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of VBM Supply Chain, Mining, Manufacturing, and financial processes would be an asset.
