JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

Join Abbott's Global Procurement organization as a Procurement Contract Specialist supporting Operational Services and Logistics categories. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a key advisor and contract leader, driving the development, negotiation, and management of global service agreements while partnering closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to deliver value, mitigate risk, and support business objectives worldwide.

What You'll Work On

  • Lead the preparation, review, negotiation, and execution of vendor Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and other commercial contracts.

  • Serve as the primary procurement liaison for contract processes, submissions, approvals, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Draft and negotiate contract language, ensuring alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and business objectives.

  • Coordinate cross-functional contract reviews with Legal, Tax, Insurance, Audit, and other subject matter experts.

  • Manage and maintain contract documentation across a portfolio of global supplier relationships.

  • Educate internal stakeholders on contracting best practices, legal terms, and procurement policies through training and consultation.

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for the global Freight Audit & Payment category.

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFI/RFP development, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and supplier selections.

  • Negotiate favorable commercial terms and conditions with suppliers to maximize value and minimize risk.

  • Establish category governance frameworks, supplier performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor supplier performance and drive accountability against established service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Partner with Logistics, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on sourcing and contract management strategies.

  • Provide strategic sourcing support across logistics categories, including Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Warehousing.

  • Utilize sourcing optimization tools and analytics to evaluate scenarios, conduct spend analysis, perform market research, and support data-driven decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial contracting, procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain-related roles.

  • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing complex commercial contracts and service agreements.

  • Experience partnering with legal, finance, operations, and business stakeholders to drive contract and sourcing outcomes.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.

  • Solid project management and organizational capabilities with attention to detail.

  • Experience managing supplier relationships and contract performance.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals, commercial terms, and sourcing opportunities.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting logistics, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), and facility services categories.

  • Direct experience negotiating and managing logistics-related contracts.

  • Knowledge of freight audit and payment services, transportation procurement, and logistics operations.

  • Experience developing and implementing global category strategies and governance frameworks.

  • Advanced sourcing and supplier management experience in a multinational organization.

  • Experience leading global RFI/RFP processes and complex supplier negotiations.

  • Proficiency with sourcing and procurement tools such as Jaggaer or similar sourcing optimization platforms.

  • Strong spend analysis, market intelligence, and cost modeling capabilities.

  • Experience delivering stakeholder training on procurement, contracting, or compliance-related topics.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across global business units.
