Job Description

The Industrial Hygiene Senior Specialist position is part of the to Industrial Hygiene Division of OEHS. This position reports to the Associate Director Industrial Hygiene and is primarily executing assessments, inspections and other tasks relating to the industrial hygiene programs at Boston University (BU) and Boston Medical Center (BMC). This position is primarily based on the Medical Campus while remaining flexible in assignments across all areas and departments served by OEHS. The specific duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: support the industrial hygiene program through the assessment of hazards due to possible physical, chemical and biological exposures in the workplace.

Required Skills

B.A./B.S. in a related field and three years of industrial hygiene experience, preferably in an academic research or health care setting, ability to respond to emergencies on campus during off hours, including weekends and holidays as part of the on-call emergency response team. Should have or be able to obtain the 24 or 40-hour OSHA hazardous waste operations and emergency response training. This position requires successful completion of a pre-placement physical.
