Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Specialist, Business Development with a focus on new business growth within our fuzing and munitions portfolio. Key roles of this position include:
• Identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities in support of financial targets.
• Develop and support market and competitor assessments.
• Develop strategies to shape and respond to customer proposal requirements.
• Develop and execute customer engagement plans.
• Collaborate with engineering, program management, and product line management on strategy development.

The successful candidate will be skilled in building positive, focused relationships with customers and the Government, collaborating and cooperating with the goal of supporting L3Harris growth strategies.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers and industry partners.
  • Arrange and support strategic customer engagements. Support tradeshows as required.
  • Provides timely, accurate, actionable insights on industry, market and budgetary trends and competitors, to support divisional pursuits.
  • Evaluates business opportunities (customers/markets/products) in consideration of trends and makes recommendations on growth and capture strategies.
  • Identify markets, opportunities, and determine feasibility of product development.
  • Collaborates with Engineering in development of long term market roadmaps and alignment of technology roadmaps.
  • Gathers and maintains competitive intelligence.
  • Provides inputs into business reviews, strategic planning exercises, resource planning, budget analysis, and opportunity mapping.
  • Lead and support proposal efforts for new product development.
  • Develop and document win strategies and pursuit campaigns.
  • Determines price-to-win for major program initiatives.
  • Builds the L3Harris brand through performance, customer focus, thought leadership, ethical business practices, and integrity - deliver on customer focused, business aligned commitments.
  • Leads by example, motivating individuals to work together toward common goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office including PowerPoint.
  • Travel 50% time.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of engineering, business development or related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 5 years or more experience and understanding of new business capture processes, methods and techniques.
  • Experience developing proposals.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.


Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Desired background in munitions technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy, business development, or program management with a focus in Aerospace and Defense industry.
