Job Overview:Responsible to execute ingredient strategic sourcing initiatives supporting and identified by Sr. Sourcing Manager including but not limited to: ingredient innovation, BCP's/alternatives, NAFNAC, ensuring procurement compliance and sourcing related activities for secondary ingredient categories.
Key Responsibilities: - Contributes to the execution of the company's long-term plan (LTP) within the Procurement department
- Provides critical Subject Matter Expertise (SME)
- Responsible for reducing costs of purchased goods and services without jeopardizing quality or business continuity
- Develop and implement terms & conditions, RFQ, RFP, online bidding and other programs and processes to ensure best value and cost
- Resolves day to day issues, escalating any chronic or severe issues to the Sourcing department
- Ensures business alignment with the Sourcing department
- Develop and manage best-in-class procurement policies, processes, systems, tools, training and auditing
- Provides support to other department functions regarding their inventory and procurement requirements
- Works with Marketing on project launches, discontinuations and product changes
- Supports Supply Chain on material planning, inventories and resolves any supply issues
- Partner with and provide procurement leadership and insight to the Operations, Finance, Quality, and R&D groups as required
The Recipe for Success: - Completion of college diploma in Supply Chain Fundamentals or Business
- Minimum 5 years of procurement or sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP or similar business systems experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing and equipment for food processing and high-speed packaging, as well as Bakery Manufacturing including ingredients
- Must possess the financial acumen to manage, measure, and improve operational effectiveness and profitability
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written; strong listening skills).
- Strong judgement, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions.
- Good ability to motivate and empower team members by providing feedback and recognition
- Strong computer systems (MS Office, ERP systems)
- Working Knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement experience is an asset
