Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?This is a Solution Architect position within RBCx that requires technical depth (full stack development, application architecture, Account B patterns including Apigee/API Gateway/OAuth/SQS/EKS, React/Mobile frameworks, DevOps, banking platforms, governance frameworks, multi-cloud expertise, SaaS integrations, AI/ML), strategic thinking (identifying AI opportunities), mentorship abilities, and soft skills (communication, collaboration, trust-building) to bridge business needs with modern technical implementation while adhering to enterprise standards.
All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy principles.
What will you do?- Design fit-for-purpose technical solutions that comply with RBC standards
- Leverage core banking platforms and technology where possible
- Communicate effectively with business teams to understand their needs
- Assist teams in identifying use cases that can benefit from AI
- Guide teams from AI opportunity identification through to execution
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance
What do you need to succeed?Must-have- Familiar with RBC's solution design methodology and structured governance
- Knowledge of core banking platforms and technology
- Application architecture experience
- Familiar with Account B AWS patterns currently in use:
- Apigee
- API Gateway
- OAuth
- SQS (Simple Queue Service)
- EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) architecture
- Full stack knowledge of application platform design & development (Web or Mobile)
- Framework expertise:
- React (Web)
- Mobile frameworks
- DevOps knowledge and practices
- Programming languages to support development teams
- Performance optimization experience
- Experience with cloud platforms: Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure
- Integration experience with 3rd party SaaS partners
- Experience using AI to assist with architecture design
