Full Job Description
Design, implement, and maintain responsive and interactive web applications using modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc.) with accessibility in mind. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while following coding standards and best practices. Develop and execute test cases to ensure the reliability and functionality of web applications and to ensure the web app maintains its accessibility standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and contribute to the overall product roadmap. Investigate and resolve issues reported by users or QA testers promptly. Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices. Evaluate and integrate emerging web technologies and frameworks to optimize performance and scalability. Oversee deployment and maintenance processes, ensuring continuous improvement and high availability in production environments. Lead all aspects of software development and product engineering. Mentor junior engineers. Manage ongoing maintenance of existing systems.

Partial telecommuting permitted; on-site in New York, NY office when not remote. Salary: $189,592 - $230,000 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any position involving building, architecting, and leading development of large-scale, consumer-facing web applications using modern web technologies.

In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as a as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any position involving building, architecting, and leading development of large-scale, consumer-facing web applications using modern web technologies.

Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience designing, developing, and implementing highly interactive, accessible, and performant web applications that serve high-volume, global audiences using modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React.js. 3 years of professional experience collaborating cross-functionally with product management, UX/UI design, quality assurance, analytics, and business stakeholders to align technical roadmaps and feature priorities with broader organizational goals. 3 years of professional experience modeling and advocating best practices in security, privacy, and accessibility standards throughout the full software development lifecycle within largescale consumer technology environment. 3 years of professional experience proactively managing technical debt through strategic refactoring, process improvements, and system optimizations aimed at enhancing stability, scalability, and long-term maintainability of complex software systems. 2 years of professional experience providing technical mentorship and architectural leadership to multiple engineering teams, including mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and establishing and enforcing best practices to ensure software quality, maintainability, and team development.
