The Anti-abuse team at Snowflake is responsible for protecting Snowflake and our customers from abuse on the Snowflake platform. You will have the opportunity to help set the direction of the roadmap and build foundational security primitives while working closely with other teams at Snowflake.
As an
Anti-Abuse Software Engineer, you will design and build necessary software solutions within a multi-cloud env. across a wide range of problem areas that proactively protect our platform and users from adversarial threats. You will build and scale solution and mitigation frameworks to combat fraud, account takeovers (ATO), data exfiltrations and AI security threats, tackling the most complex engineering challenges of Snowflake's hyper-growth.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and scale security-by-default capabilities that protect Snowflake products across a complex multi-cloud environment.
- Develop intelligent security platforms and services that leverage AI/ML and risk scoring to identify, prioritize, and respond to security threats and policy violations.
- Build real-time detection and prevention systems to defend against account compromise, AI abuse, and data exfiltration through adaptive enforcement and granular policy controls.
- Create security intelligence and monitoring capabilities that detect suspicious account activity, generate actionable insights, and enable timely response.
- Partner across other Security teams, Engineering, and Product to define security strategy, influence product design, and drive the adoption of secure engineering practices.
- Raise the engineering bar by setting standards for system design, code quality, operational excellence, and scalable security architecture within the Security Foundations organization.
Minimum qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software development working with one or more of the following languages: JavaScript, Java, Python, C, C++, Go.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or a similar language for building detections and data pipelines.
- Experience designing, testing, and maintaining software solutions focused on security.
- Experience leading projects independently and setting technical direction.
Preferred qualifications- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience working with infrastructure from major cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Experience with secure software development lifecycle or security primitives, including but not limited to static analysis, dynamic analysis, authentication and access management, DDoS or security scanning.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
