Job TitleSenior Software Engineer - Mainframe (COBOL, CICS, DB2) Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that meet business and customer needs. This role participates throughout the software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing application support. The position also leverages AI-assisted development tools to improve software quality and development efficiency.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days per week in the office)
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver user-focused software solutions.
- Design and implement software solutions using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and development methodologies.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar LLM-based coding assistants.
- Evaluate application requirements and determine appropriate technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
- Develop high-level software architecture and application design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, and designers.
- Define and implement software testing strategies, policies, and best practices.
- Improve application performance and optimize existing software solutions.
- Apply modern software engineering practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD).
- Support security best practices, including encryption and data protection.
- Develop user interfaces and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to improve software delivery and engineering efficiency.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree.
- 10+ years of IT experience.
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- Practical experience in two programming languages or advanced expertise in one programming language.
