Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development, integration, testing, and maintenance of embedded software systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in embedded software development using C/C++, VxWorks, and real-time operating systems. This role involves leading software architecture, development, verification, and integration activities while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities: - Lead activities to develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
- Lead the development, integration, and debugging of complex software components into fully functional embedded software systems.
- Develop software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments.
- Execute software testing and document results to ensure software requirements are met.
- Evaluate software performance and conduct software analysis to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Work under minimal supervision while providing technical leadership and guidance.
Required Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field.
- 9+ years of experience in software engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience developing and debugging software using C and C++.
- Experience with VxWorks development and debugging.
- Experience developing and debugging embedded software systems.
- Experience with software performance evaluation and analysis.
- Experience using bug tracking and source control systems.
Preferred Skills: - Experience developing embedded software for ARM processors.
- Experience with industry-standard Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Education / Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically
9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.,
PhD + 4 years' related work experience, Master + 7 years' related work experience). In the USA,
ABET accreditation is preferred, although not required.
