Job Role Summary

Responsible for the design and development of software, interfaces to include Windows, Web Services, and health information (e.g. HL7), and all activities required for implementing and testing those systems. Systems must be architected to be efficient and user-friendly and easily deployed and maintained. Will work closely with project managers, business analysts, and business units to gather requirements, document, plan, and implement complex systems. Work closely with Application Developer assigning tasks, completing code reviews, and mentoring.

Essential Duties

  • Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, integration, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of complex software applications and interfaces.
  • Meet with clients, business analysts, and other stakeholders to evaluate requests for new systems and modifications to existing solutions.
  • Translate business, functional, security, and technical requirements into detailed application and system designs; present proposed designs to stakeholders for review and approval.
  • Serve as technical lead on software development projects and recommend application architecture, development frameworks, integration approaches, and technology solutions.
  • Design applications and integrations for scalability, security, performance, reliability, maintainability, usability, and efficient deployment.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, web services, databases, healthcare interfaces, and other system integrations.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve software development standards, secure coding practices, source-control practices, and technical documentation.
  • Lead formal peer code reviews and ensure adherence to established development, security, testing, and documentation standards.
  • Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentorship to developers and assist with prioritizing and assigning development work, as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
  • Develop project estimates, identify technical risks and dependencies, and communicate project status and technical issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain system-development documentation in accordance with organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years Software Development experience.
  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Healthcare/Health Department/Hospital experience highly desired.

  • valid Indiana driver's license and access to own vehicle for in-county travel
