Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer to join a focused team within SEPS Data Science supporting payment, subscription, and risk experiences across PlayStation's direct-to-consumer business. This is a hands-on role responsible for building data pipelines, dashboards, reports, and systems that support fraud prevention, analytics, and business decision-making. The candidate will serve as the primary and only Snowflake Engineer on the team and should have strong full-lifecycle Snowflake implementation experience with Snowflake Subject Matter Expertise. The role requires strong technical execution, creativity, adaptability, and the ability to support both short-term initiatives and longer-term strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and automated workflows for GPFD teams.
• Develop monitoring, alerts, dashboards, and reporting solutions to support payment, subscription, risk, and fraud-related initiatives.
• Build reliable, governed, and AI-ready data products that support analytics, automation, machine learning, and generative AI use cases.
• Serve as the primary Snowflake Engineer and provide hands-on Snowflake engineering expertise across the full implementation lifecycle.
• Partner with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted and documented data for production workflows.
• Use cloud technologies, orchestration tools, and modern data engineering practices to improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Design and maintain data models, database structures, data validation processes, and performance optimization solutions.
• Prepare and operationalize data for analytics, AI, and machine learning use cases.
• Apply data quality, lineage, governance, feature engineering, and responsible AI practices to data products.
• Document architectures, data flows, data models, and technical processes.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to engineering teams, business stakeholders, and executives.
• Support team growth through mentoring, knowledge sharing, technical reviews, and participation in hiring activities.
• Apply appropriate controls to sensitive customer, payment, and risk data, including data minimization, access control, encryption, auditability, and privacy-aware data handling.

Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, software development, systems design, or data analysis.
• Strong hands-on Snowflake experience with full-lifecycle Snowflake implementation.
• Strong Snowflake expertise suitable for serving as the team's primary Snowflake Engineer and SME.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Strong experience with data modeling and database design.
• Strong experience with DDL and DML.
• Strong data validation and performance optimization skills.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience building automated data pipelines and workflows.
• Familiarity with structured and semi-structured data formats.
• Experience working in Linux or Windows environments.
• Knowledge of secure data transfer, permissions, authentication, and encryption.
• Experience preparing and operationalizing data for analytics, AI, or ML use cases.
• Understanding of data quality, lineage, governance, and feature engineering.
• Ability to work independently as the primary Snowflake Engineer within a team.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
