Job Description

BryceTech is seeking a highly qualified Commercialization Strategist with deep technical expertise in space situational awareness (SSA) and space sustainability to support NASA's Small Spacecraft Technology (SST) and Flight Opportunities (FO) Programs within the Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD). The analyst will play a critical role in shaping policy improvements for government space technology research, development, and demonstration programs, with a focus on evaluating and integrating emerging commercial solutions to meet NASA's evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of roadmaps for space debris remediation and in-space sustainability, emphasizing the effective use of existing commercial capabilities and the advancement of new commercial solutions in SSA and space sustainability.
  • Assist in the development of solicitations for SBIR, ACO, and other related topics.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of proposals and oversee the execution of SBIR and ACO projects.
  • Liaises with other NASA offices including Space Operations Mission Directorate, providing direct support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the SST/FO Program Executive and other program personnel to:
    • Provide recommendations for tailoring NASA R&D program and project management requirements to reduce time to flight while maintaining appropriate risk profiles.
    • Coordinate with senior NASA personnel at Centers and Headquarters to build consensus on tailored requirements.
    • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to program policies and processes, including technology project acquisition, program and project performance management, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
    • Design and conduct pilot studies and impact evaluations as needed.
    • Document program processes and policies.
    • Support strategy, management, and integration operations.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in space situational awareness (SSA) and space sustainability (required).
  • Experience with risk-tolerant or iterative approaches to space technology R&D and demonstration (required).
  • Familiarity with common SST mission elements, such as spectrum licensing, orbital debris assessments, and launch safety documentation (preferred).
  • Experience performing technical evaluations of commercial industry solutions in SSA and space sustainability, including assessing technical readiness and providing actionable recommendations.


Additional Information
  • The position supports NASA Headquarters but may be performed remotely.
  • Regular travel may be required.
