Full Job Description
Overview

Microsoft is seeking a Senior Security Solution Engineer to help leading defense, aerospace, intelligence, and critical infrastructure organizations transform through secure adoption of cloud, data, and AI. This role combines deep cybersecurity expertise, executive-level customer engagement, business acumen, and the ability to lead across complex customer and Microsoft stakeholder environments.

The ideal candidate does more than explain technology. They shape customer security strategy, establish technical decision criteria, lead architecture and evaluation efforts, remove barriers to adoption, and remain accountable through measurable customer outcomes.

Responsibilities
Own the Technical Strategy for Assigned Accounts
  • Develop and execute account-level security technical strategies aligned to documented customer priorities, regulatory obligations, modernization plans, and AI ambitions.
  • Build trusted relationships with CISOs, CIOs, security architects, SOC leaders, identity teams, data security leaders, and cloud platform teams.
  • Lead architecture discussions that position Microsoft as a strategic security platform, not a collection of disconnected products.
  • Bring a clear technical point of view to account planning and translate customer signals into prioritized actions.
Drive Technical Wins
  • Lead discovery, architecture, solution design, demonstrations, workshops, pilots, and technical validation activities.
  • Define and influence customer decision criteria, success measures, evaluation plans, and security roadmaps.
  • Identify technical risks early and drive the right resources and actions to resolve them.
  • Convert complex technical engagements into clear recommendations, decisions, and next steps.
Accelerate Secure AI Adoption
  • Guide customers on AI security posture, data protection for AI, identity and access for agents, AI governance, and security foundations required for responsible AI adoption.
  • Help customers securely deploy Microsoft Copilot and agents while maximizing the security capabilities they already own.
  • Connect AI security requirements to identity, data, endpoint, cloud, and security operations architectures.
Orchestrate Across the Customer Lifecycle
  • Partner closely with Security Specialists, account teams, Customer Success, FastTrack, partners, engineering, and cross-solution-area technical teams.
  • Serve as the technical continuity leader from initial strategy and evaluation through deployment, adoption, and value realization.
  • Make deliberate use of available programs, investments, and specialist resources to accelerate customer outcomes.
  • Create clarity across stakeholders on ownership, dependencies, risks, and next actions.
Drive Adoption and Customer Outcomes
  • Help customers deploy, operationalize, and expand Microsoft Security capabilities across Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Purview, Security Copilot, Microsoft 365 E5/G5, and Azure security services.
  • Move engagements beyond feature demonstrations and deployment milestones toward measurable improvements in security operations, risk reduction, platform consolidation, and mission readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to expand workload adoption based on customer needs, usage signals, technical gaps, and future priorities.
