Full Job Description
STV is seeking a Senior Scheduler to join our growing Project Controls Department in our Dallas, TX office. This individual will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for complex infrastructure and capital programs. The successful candidate will partner with project managers, engineers, construction teams, and clients to ensure projects are properly planned, monitored, and delivered successfully.

This is a senior-level individual contributor position requiring advanced scheduling expertise, a strong understanding of project controls methodologies, and the ability to lead scheduling efforts across multiple large-scale projects while providing mentorship to junior scheduling professionals.

What You Will Do

Schedule Development & Management
  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction and commissioning.
  • Create and update resource-loaded CPM schedules utilizing Primavera P6 and other scheduling software platforms.
  • Establish project baselines, milestones, critical paths, work breakdown structures (WBS), and schedule performance metrics.
  • Perform schedule validation reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements, contractual obligations, and industry best practices.
  • Develop integrated master schedules for complex, multi-disciplinary projects and programs.


Schedule Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze project schedules to identify critical path activities, schedule risks, float consumption, and potential delays.
  • Prepare regular schedule performance reports, executive dashboards, and client-facing presentations.
  • Monitor schedule progress and provide accurate forecasting of project completion dates and milestone achievement.
  • Conduct schedule health assessments and compliance reviews.
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM) and progress measurement activities where applicable.


Project Controls Integration
  • Collaborate closely with cost engineers, estimators, project managers, and construction teams to align schedule performance with project budgets and forecasts.
  • Support development of integrated cost and schedule reporting.
  • Assist project teams in developing recovery schedules and mitigation plans when schedule variances occur.
  • Evaluate schedule impacts resulting from scope changes, design revisions, and construction modifications.


Risk Analysis & Change Management
  • Support quantitative schedule risk assessments and contingency planning efforts.
  • Perform time impact analyses (TIA) and evaluate schedule impacts associated with change orders, delays, and claims.
  • Identify potential schedule risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in project risk workshops and planning sessions.


Client & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Facilitate project scheduling meetings and update reviews with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
  • Present schedule analyses and recommendations to project leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Review contractor schedules for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support proposal development, project pursuits, and strategic planning activities by preparing schedule approaches and timelines.


Leadership & Mentorship
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior schedulers and project controls personnel.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of scheduling standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives related to project controls and schedule management.
  • Support department growth through knowledge sharing and professional development efforts.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project scheduling, project controls, or construction planning.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, transportation, aviation, transit, energy, or public works projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Strong knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques and schedule analysis methodologies.
  • Experience developing and managing resource-loaded schedules and integrated master schedules.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting major transportation, rail/transit, aviation, or infrastructure programs.
  • Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification from AACE International.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with schedule risk analysis software such as Deltek Acumen Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Experience reviewing contractor schedules and supporting construction claims analysis.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Microsoft Project, and project management information systems (PMIS).


Compensation Range:
$130,962.60 - $149,671.54
