How You'll Make an Impact:The Senior SBC Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and high availability of voice infrastructure within a mission-critical call center environment supporting emergency calls. This position provides technical leadership for the design, configuration, and operation of Oracle Acme Packet Session Border Controllers (SBCs) and Oracle Communications Converged Application Server (OCCAS). The Senior SBC Engineer will oversee incident and project tickets, and drive solutions that ensure reliable SIP-based voice services essential to public safety communications.
What You'll Do:- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers supporting emergency call center voice infrastructure.
- Administer, configure, and maintain Oracle Acme Packet SBCs and Oracle Communications Converged Application Server (OCCAS).
- Design, implement, and optimize SIP routing, header manipulation (HMR), and normalization rules for multi-carrier interoperability.
- Develop and troubleshoot OCCAS SIP servlets and custom call control logic for emergency call handling.
- Manage and resolve daily bug, service, and project tickets while ensuring SLA compliance and documentation updates.
- Perform SIP signaling and media troubleshooting using Wireshark, sngrep, and Oracle diagnostic tools.
- Manage SBC clusters, firmware upgrades, capacity planning, and redundancy to ensure high availability.
- Oversee TLS/SRTP, certificate management, and SBC security configurations to maintain compliance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Network Operations, Security, Application Development, and Contact Center Operations.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and lead incident response and root cause analysis for voice service issues.
What You'll Need:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in VoIP/SIP network engineering, with 5+ years of hands-on Oracle SBC experience.
- 2+ years of direct experience with Oracle Communications Converged Application Server (OCCAS).
- Expert-level understanding of SIP, SDP, RTP, and SIP header manipulation (HMR).
- Experience supporting call centers or emergency services environments (e.g., 911, PSAP, or public safety operations).
- Proficiency with DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, SRTP, and firewall/NAT traversal for SIP traffic.
- Strong troubleshooting experience using Wireshark, sngrep, and Oracle diagnostic tools.
- Experience managing redundant SBC clusters, HA, and geo-redundant designs.
- Excellent documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Genesys Cloud CX or other cloud contact center platforms preferred but not required.
- Oracle Communications certifications (OCSBC, OCCAS) highly desirable.
- Experience with STIR/SHAKEN, SIPREC, Oracle Core Session Manager (OCSM), or Policy DRA.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, JIRA, or other enterprise ticketing systems.
- Scripting or automation experience (Python, Bash, Terraform, REST APIs) for process and deployment efficiency.
- Experience with automation and/or AI tools such as chatGPT, Gemini, etc.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $134,100 to $163,300 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
