Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Retail Operations Advisor, Lumber, on a permanent basis on our Home and Building Solutions (HABS) team.

This position is a remote opportunity and is based out of Edmonton, AB or Calgary AB. Although you will not be required to come into the office on a regular basis, the job will require you to travel to local Co-ops across Alberta up to 70%.

Join a dynamic team driving profitable growth across lumber operations in Western Canada. As a Senior Retail Operations Advisor, you'll be a strategic partner to Local Co-ops-coaching leaders, optimizing sales and profitability, and executing key initiatives aligned with FCL's HABS Vision and Strategy. From contractor center design to succession planning, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of retail lumber.

What you'll do:
  • Achieve budgeted sales targets and improve profitability for assigned Local Co-ops through strategic planning and coaching.
  • Partner with Local Co-op Senior Leaders to identify growth opportunities, develop actionable sales plans, and support execution.
  • Ensure effective participation in Coordinated events (e.g., Zone training, HABS Buy Mart) and align efforts with HABS OA colleagues.
  • Guide Local Co-ops through renovations, expansions, and new store setups, including yard planning, product placement, and marketing.
  • Identify future leaders within Local Co-ops and support HR in coordinating training and long-term succession strategies.

Who you'll work with:
You will work closely with Local Co-op Management to encourage full support and execution of FCL strategic initiatives and programs. You will also work with fellow Zone HABS OAs and Zone Operations leadership to support and help implement overall location HABS operational, sales and profitability objectives. You will report into the Manager, HABS LBM Sales. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, expertise, and results.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Sales & Marketing and:
  • Have 6-9 years of progressively responsible experience in retail management with direct exposure to lumber and building materials industry.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in business administration, Commerce, or Marketing (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
