Full Job Description
Summary:

This role reports to the Chief Mine Geologist and will collaborate across various departments within the Company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the Mine Geology team at the mine site, overseeing the creation of high-quality wireframes, 3D lithostructural and mineralization models, short-term grade control models, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:
  • Manage assigned tasks and projects in collaboration with the Corporate Geoscience team, as directed by the Chief Mine Geologist.
  • Apply expertise in sampling protocols, database management, QA/QC, 3D geological modeling, and applied geostatistics for resource estimation.
  • Utilize industry-standard software packages (Datamine Studio RM, Micromine, Seequent Leapfrog Geo) to produce resource models, including short-term grade control models.
  • Assist the Mine Geology team in compliance with National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) rules and guidelines for Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves (MRMR).
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation to identify areas of mining or model non-performance.
  • Provide recommendations on diamond drilling campaigns for production, conversion, and exploration to the Mine Geology team.
  • Participate in the review of 3-month planned stope shapes, highlighting opportunities/risks to the Engineering team.
  • Contribute to memo writing, process mapping, SOPs, guidelines, and technical reporting.
  • Mentor and train the Mine Geology team in 3D geological modeling and applied geostatistics for resource estimation.
  • Assist Independent QPs and Consultants in completing NI 43-101 technical reports, PEAs, PFS, and FS reports related to the Company's resources and reserves.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in resource geology.
  • Specific experience with gold and underground projects.
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Geology or Earth Science; M.Sc. preferred.
  • Registered Professional Geoscientist in the province of Ontario (P.Geo.).
  • Proficient in Datamine Studio RM, Micromine, Seequent Leapfrog Geo, or similar geological modeling software.
  • Strong attention to detail and QA/QC for all data used in estimations.
  • Experience in applied geostatistics and block modeling for structurally complex narrow vein hosted gold deposits.
  • Proficient in computer and data management.
  • Sound understanding of diamond drill planning, core logging, sampling techniques, and QA/QC.
  • Experience interpreting various types of geological data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse team.
  • Adherence to high safety standards.
