Position We are looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join our team. The position will lead the development of new features and maintain the existing codebase that helps tackle challenging and important problems impacting thousands of local pet care providers who rely on Time To Pet to run their business in real time. The ideal candidate will be able to operate well in ambiguity and come to a great solution. As a Sr. React Native Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain our react native mobile application(s).
*** This position is based in Austin, Texas. The expectation would be to work from our office 2 days per week to foster close collaboration with the rest of the Time To Pet team.
Responsibilities - Design and develop high-quality new featureswith a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Maintain the existing code base by fixing bugs and making improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with development team to ensure the successful delivery of software features and updates.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, with a focus on best practices and coding standards.
- Map real-world customer issues to product solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and other collaborative activities to ensure the quality and consistency of our codebase.
- Contribute to the development of our technical roadmap, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and growth.
- Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in mobile application development, and continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
Requirements - Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years developing mobile applications with react native.
- Exposure/experience with Expo.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable navigating large codebases at scale.
- Driven and self-disciplined with the ability to own projects from start to finish.
Preferred - Experience with native iOS or native Android development.
- Experience submitting mobile applications to Google Play and Apple stores.
- Experience working in a hybrid environment.
- Knowledge of and experience building out a REST API.
The salary for this role is $140,000 - $145,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc.
