What you'll be doing

As a Senior Consultant, Quality Assurance 6Control Testing, reporting to the Senior Director, Quality Assurance, you 6ll play a pivotal role in strengthening CIBC 6s control environment and supporting regulatory compliance across the enterprise. You 6ll be responsible for executing and continuously enhancing a robust Quality Assurance (QA) program over first line control testing activities within our eGRC platform. By providing independent challenge and assurance, you 6ll ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of control testing performed by the first line of defense. Your work will help enable reliable risk reporting, foster adherence to regulatory expectations, and drive improvements in testing methodologies. You 6ll collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to deliver actionable insights, support automation initiatives, and develop transparent QA reporting for senior leadership.

How you 6ll succeed

  • Quality Assurance Execution 6 Perform independent QA reviews of first line control testing, assessing adequacy of control design, testing scope, and evidence, while validating adherence to CIBC methodologies and standards.
  • Independent Challenge & Credible Assurance 6 Provide objective, constructive challenge to control testers and stakeholders, identifying gaps and escalating systemic issues impacting control effectiveness.
  • QA Framework & Methodology Enhancement 6 Contribute to the evolution of the QA framework, developing standardized procedures, scoring models, and integrating QA with eGRC workflows to drive consistency across business units.
  • Continuous Improvement & Insights 6 Identify recurring issues and root causes, delivering actionable insights to enhance testing quality and efficiency, and supporting automation and data-driven QA approaches.
  • Stakeholder Engagement 6 Partner with first line testing teams, business control groups, risk management, and compliance to guide remediation and uplift testing practices.
  • Reporting & Metrics 6 Develop and deliver QA reporting, including quality ratings, thematic insights, and risk indicators, supporting senior leadership with transparent, fact-based reporting.

Who You Are

  • Training & Capability Building 6 Support training and guidance for control testers, sharing best practices and common QA findings to build organizational capability.
  • You have extensive experience in control testing and QA. You bring 8 612+ years of experience in control testing, audit, risk management, or QA functions within financial services.
  • You 6re technically proficient with eGRC platforms. You have deep expertise in eGRC platforms (such as MetricStream), control testing methodologies, and first/second line operating models.
  • You understand regulatory expectations. You 6re well-versed in regulatory requirements including OSFI, SOX, and operational risk frameworks, and apply evidence standards and documentation best practices.
  • You 6re a critical thinker and effective challenger. You demonstrate strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to provide credible challenge while influencing stakeholders.
  • You deliver clear, executive-ready insights. You synthesize findings into actionable recommendations and transparent reporting for senior leadership.
