Job Summary

The client is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to support application architecture, development, and innovation of new features for consumer solutions. In this role, the candidate will provide guidance and standards to Quality Engineers to ensure the highest quality for each release. The position will support high-quality automation test engineering, QA best practices, test strategy, and testing principles. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead testing initiatives, implement scalable test solutions, and mentor team members while ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan test schedules and strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates, prioritizing work with general direction and minimal supervision.
  • Own testing capabilities across multiple programs and projects and communicate with stakeholders to establish collaborative and unified development processes and initiatives across the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, gather requirements, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable test solutions.
  • Develop and promote high-quality test engineering best practices, test strategies, and testing principles.
  • Develop and deliver training, where appropriate, to enhance and elevate testing skills within the team.
  • Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI teams, Quality Engineers, and Product Managers to deliver high-performing and engaging customer experiences.
  • Participate in automation script code reviews and provide guidance on automation best practices.
  • Identify gaps and needs within Agile teams, including resources, skills, resource allocation, task assignment, and delegation.
  • Coordinate test-related activities for project delivery, including identifying task dependencies, test schedules, test data creation, and utilization of test environments.
  • Develop and monitor test metrics and provide timely communication to key stakeholders.
  • Research, identify, and implement new testing technologies.
  • Assess project readiness and deviations based on identified risks and testing results.
  • Lead testing processes and take ownership of testing initiatives.
  • Lead projects independently and mentor team members.
  • Handle multiple large projects simultaneously while maintaining effective time management and delivery.
  • Consistently demonstrate regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • 8+ years of experience in QA and/or software development.
  • 3+ years of experience using automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress, with the ability to program as needed.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts and their significance.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Point-of-Sale systems; Oracle Xstore experience is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience assessing risk to determine appropriate levels of testing.
  • Demonstrated experience using code repositories such as GitHub.
  • Experience with JIRA for project management and defect tracking.
  • Experience leading ambiguous situations, addressing IT issues, and developing effective solutions to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Experience with a variety of testing tools and software testing practices, including developing, implementing, maintaining, and managing manual and automated testing systems and environments.
  • Ability to clearly write technical specifications with strong estimating and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills across teams and organizational roles.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present ideas and work to teams and organizational stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting testing topics to quality assurance peer groups, both internally and externally.
  • Strong logical problem isolation and problem-solving skills.
