Role Overview:This Senior Python Developer with PL/SQL role bridges high-performance backend automation with robust relational database management. Operating within the banking domain, the successful candidate will build and scale data-driven financial applications, optimize complex transactional databases, and streamline extract-transform-load (ETL) data pipelines for critical systems like risk management, regulatory reporting, or payment processing.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, build, and optimize scalable financial microservices and REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Process massive transactional datasets using numerical libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.
- Develop and maintain automated workflows, orchestrating jobs with Apache Airflow DAGs.
- Migrate legacy scripting structures (e.g., Perl or Bash) into highly observable Python orchestration scripts.
- Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Execute intensive database performance tuning using AWR reports, Explain Plans, and advanced indexing.
- Manage data partitioning strategies (e.g., exchange partitions) to drastically cut data processing windows.
- Build data structures ensuring rigorous data integrity, audit trails, and strict transaction handling.
Required Skills:- Advanced Python (OOP, multi-threading, asynchronous programming)
- Oracle PL/SQL
- Data Processing: Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, and enterprise ETL toolsets
- Databases: Oracle Database 12c/19c (including deep knowledge of analytical functions and collections)
- Messaging & Events: Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ
- DevOps & Cloud: Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab), Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments like AWS or Snowflake
- In-depth knowledge of Python software development, including frameworks, tools, and systems (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, PyTorch)
- Proficiency with front-end development technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with database tools such as SQL and NoSQL and their best practices
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
Qualifications:- Minimum of 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years inside a financial institution or banking tier.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
