Full Job Description
Job Title: Senior Property Accountant

Industry: Commercial Real Estate

Location (city, state): Seattle, WA

Assignment Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time

Pay: $110k base - $130k base.

Work Environment: Hybrid after 60 days fully onsite

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee accounting functions for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Complete month-end close activities and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare property-level financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and reforecasting.
  • Account for operating expenses, CAM charges, property taxes, insurance, and tenant recoveries.
  • Assist with annual CAM reconciliations and tenant recovery calculations.
  • Assist with accounting system upgrades, testing, and process enhancements.
  • Partner with Property Managers to explain financial results and provide accounting guidance.
  • Review work prepared by junior accounting staff and provide coaching when appropriate.
  • Assist accounting leadership with special projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience; commercial real estate experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Experience with monthly close processes and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager and/or Yardi PayScan is preferred.
  • Experience with office, retail, industrial, or multifamily properties is required.
  • CAM experience is required.
  • Experience with property-level budgeting and forecasting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
