Responsibilities

  • Support construction projects from planning to closeout phases.

  • Conduct site walks and prepare detailed progress reports.
  • Coordinate project meetings, maintain records, and track action items.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and ensure project success.

Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Office Engineer to support major maintenance, modernization, and capital improvement projects for one of the largest public-school districts in the nation.

*Salary Range: $120K/Year-$135K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support construction projects throughout planning, design, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, change orders, and contractor proposals.
  • Assist with cost estimates, contract administration, and project documentation.
  • Review contractor schedules, recovery schedules, and critical path activities.
  • Monitor applications for payment and project progress.
  • Conduct site walks and prepare progress reports.
  • Coordinate meetings, maintain project records, and track action items.
  • Assist with claims review, project closeout, and collection of as-built documentation.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and support successful project delivery.

Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in construction management, project engineering, office engineering, or a similar role.
  • Experience supporting commercial, public-sector, educational, or institutional construction projects valued at $15 million or greater.
  • Experience reviewing construction schedules, RFIs, change orders, and contractor documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred
  • Experience with K-12 school construction programs or public-sector capital projects.
  • Familiarity with Division of the State Architect (DSA) processes and requirements.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Experience supporting LEED-certified projects and/or Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS) projects.
