Full Job Description
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Project Manager to our Water team based in Austin, Texas. This role provides the opportunity to lead complex water infrastructure projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions for public and private sector clients.

Position Summary:
The Water Senior Project Manager provides technical leadership, project management, and staff mentorship for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. This position supports planning, design, and construction phases while ensuring technical excellence, financial performance, and client satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead and manage infrastructure projects from conceptual planning through final design, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical oversight for planning and design of pipelines, treatment facilities, pump stations, and storage facilities.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
• Maintain and expand existing client relationships and support business development activities.
• Ensure technical accuracy, adherence to engineering standards, and proper documentation.
• Evaluate design alternatives, resolve technical issues, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide construction support, including interpretation of plans and specifications and coordination of design modifications.
• Make independent assessments of engineering problems and recommend solutions.
• Achieve project financial targets related to profitability and utilization.
• Mentor and provide leadership to junior engineers and project staff.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil or Environmental Engineering in Texas, or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Experience in technical project execution and developing, writing, and pricing scopes of work for proposals.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing water, wastewater, or stormwater projects for public sector clients.
• Prior experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Texas regulatory requirements and local agency standards.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform work in both office and field environments.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• Combination of office and field settings, including active construction sites.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Additional Information:
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Work Location: Austin, Texas.
• Travel Requirement: Approximately 15% or more.
