Full Job Description
Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer/Manager, Drinking water for ourArizona offices located in Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear. This role will involve project engineering and management, and the development of drinking water projects throughout Arizona, the Southwest and across the country. You will be a part of the Hazen drinking water practice groups engaging and collaborating drinking projects, and opportunities across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Your role will include project management, design, planning, operational support, and business development with a focus on drinking water projects
  • Supporting and developing proposal development.
  • Helping to identify, hire, supervise and mentor junior drinking water staff.
  • Direct coordination and collaboration with clients.
  • Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
  • Managing projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements.
  • Following internal Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients.
  • Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small/medium/large projects.
  • Performing planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation.
  • Evaluate progress of the project staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall project objective

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering
  • PE license
  • 12+ years of experience in municipal water treatment, reuse, water quality, water treatment technology, or manufacturing
  • Experience in successfully delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering
