Job Summary

This role will become a part of a cross functional strategy & execution team completing projects on time, within budget and exceeding expectations. The Senior Project Manager role will lead the design and construction of capital projects for the Cincinnati and Kentucky. Functions as owner’s representative on multiple construction projects.  The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for orchestration and project management across several cross-functional teams, both internal and external. Projects may involve new construction, renovations, and or major repairs.  Works with the internal client and stakeholders and manages teams of designers, contractors, and vendors to include the development of project scope, contracting of services, coordination and facilitation of project meetings, maintenance of project schedules, control of project quality and compliance with regulatory requirements, review and approval of proposals and invoices, and project closeout activities.  Manages the quality of work of the designers and contractors to meet project goals.  Regularly completes and communicates progress reports and budget status of active projects. Individual project budget oversight from $500K to $150 million on up to 30 projects per year.

***This position is hybrid and supports primarily our Cincinnati market, as well as our Kentucky markets (Paducah & Irvine).***


Essential Job Functions

  • Assists in the development of project scope and budget for review and approval of the Director of Design and Construction.

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects across teams.

  • Manages construction progress on assigned projects on a regular basis to assure that contractors adhere to sound construction and installation practices, project specifications, and applicable regulations notifying the designer’s representative of deficiencies identified.  Follows up to ensure all issues are addressed by the responsible parties from project start through project release to the facilities department. Identifies nature, cause and potential solutions of construction related issues and probable financial impact to the project.

  • Coordinates activities between affected ministry departments, designers and contractors to assure minimal disruption to services and assure continuity of patient care activities. Arranges for the interruption and restoration of utility or other systems serving project areas in consideration of their impact on the project and patient care.

  • Utilizing the Ministry project management software, produces and/or acquires all necessary documentation for project financial tracking and follow up assuring that clear audit trails are present.  Maintains current project diaries documenting project status, problems, and decisions made. Works with designers and contractors to accurately document existing building conditions encountered during projects.

  • Manages building commissioning process to ensure that project specifications are adhered to by building contractors and their sub-contractors.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop processes and workflows to align with client retail goals.

  • Facilitates the purchase, payment and timely delivery for all design, construction, and equipment contracts contained within the project scope in accordance with ministry processes and management systems.

  • Oversee all aspects of projects: scope, risk, schedule, quality, and communication to stakeholders' fullest satisfaction.

  • Assist in the development, revisions and implementation of all applicable system processes and procedure for the design and construction of ministry facilities.

Employment Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree (Required); Major:Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture

  • Graduate Degree; Major: Related Field (Preferred)

Certification:

  • ASHE Certification (Preferred)

Experience:

3 to 5 years' experience as a construction project manager within the healthcare or commercial real estate industry or for healthcare focused general contractor or architect (Required)

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Must have a working knowledge of the International Building Code, DHEC 61-16. The Joint Commission EOC Standards, NFPA, AIA, FIG, Life Safety Code (101), and NFPA 99 Code.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Projects, Word and Excel.
