Position Summary

Leads the planning, executing and implementation of multiple large and complex projects and programs. Maintains complete control on project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and issues and facilitates timely decisions to maintain project schedule and budget. Provides management with regular project updates, creates and maintains trusting relationships, identifies and manages project issues, identifies project risks early, and assists by providing prudent and timely recommendations for risk response. In addition, supports, trains, and educates PPM and non-PPM staff in all aspects of project management processes. Partners with stakeholders to collect feedback on potential improvements and helps create project management processes catered to the unique culture of WCM.

This is a term position anticipated to be needed through Fall 2028 but may be ended or extended based on organizational needs, funding availability, and performance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for full lifecycle project management of multiple complex IT Projects and Programs. Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables in support of business needs, and works with management and stakeholders for approvals.
  • Monitors and controls execution phase to ensure that projects are completed on time and meet all business and system requirements. Conducts all project management tasks to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are achieved.
  • Develops/maintains standards/procedures for project reporting and documentation, including detailed PM plans, schedules, status reports, ServiceNow updates, roles & responsibilities list, risks, issues, budget forecasts, and project closing documentation.
  • Communicates effectively with sponsors, stakeholders, and team members. Reports on the status, issues, key activities, and any changes to the charter of the overall project. Identifies and communicates resource conflicts.
  • Provides presentations on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Builds a close working relationship with clients/vendors to enhance the image of the department and that of WCM.
  • Creates and maintains project budgets including people and material costs; estimates resources needed and work effort for project activities; negotiates with resource managers to ensure that appropriate resources are assigned to achieve project goals.
  • Records actual time spent on each project and reports on variance between forecasted. Maintains resource capacity plans for actively managed projects.
  • Conducts project completion reviews, resource and vendor assessments and creates recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Participates in the evaluation, selection, maintenance and continuous enhancements of project management methodology, tools, and templates, and contributes to the overall improvement of the Project Management practice.
  • Provides day-to-day support/guidance to staff on PM process. Helps to ensure the growth and success of junior Associates by providing mentoring and training in the established processes, policies, and procedures, as well as PM tools and templates.
  • Facilitates development of user acceptance criteria, integration, and other test scripts to completely test functionality being added to new and existing ITS/POIS services.
  • Ensures results of all testing are fully documented, client is satisfied with test results and appropriate signoffs are obtained.
  • Collaborates with various stakeholders within the IT organization, building and promoting positive working relationships.
  • Adheres to stringent project reporting requirements and processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field


Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline with an Information Technology focus.

Approximately 8+ years of hands-on IT or Project Management experience.

Sufficient technical background to:
a. Understand the technologies and technical issues involved with IT projects
b. Manage and understand project scope and resources
c. Anticipate, identify, and manage resolutions of critical obstacles

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
