Full Job Description
The Senior Project Manager's key responsibilities are:

  • Establishes project execution strategies, construction methodologies, infrastructure requirements, and critical path schedules.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance targets.
  • Leads all project planning activities, including scope management, resource planning, procurement strategies, and staffing plans.
  • Oversees project delivery teams and ensures alignment with corporate objectives, client requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Enforces project controls, governance processes, and change management procedures.
  • Executes contracts, subcontracts, and commercial agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Chairs project management meetings and drives decision-making focused on achieving the best outcomes for the project.
  • Ensures project reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with internal and client requirements.
  • Directs testing, quality assurance, quality control, commissioning, and safety activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leads client, consultant, contractor, regulatory agency, utility, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Identifies, monitors, and manages project risks, opportunities, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensures all project close-out activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Demonstrates strong commercial acumen to protect profitability, improve project margins, and minimize commercial risks.
  • Supports business development initiatives, pursuit strategies, estimating activities, bid reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Contributes to revenue forecasting, financial planning, and long-term strategic growth objectives.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, transit infrastructure, tunneling, utilities, transportation, or related infrastructure sectors.
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience delivering major transit infrastructure projects with individual project values exceeding $250 million.
  • Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, design, construction, and delivery of complex transit projects within a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies, construction management practices, project controls, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Extensive understanding of contract administration, commercial management, procurement strategies, and claims avoidance practices.
  • Strong knowledge of local construction practices and proven experience working with local trades, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Experience implementing and overseeing health and safety programs on large-scale transit or infrastructure projects is considered a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with regional procurement, labor, and construction market conditions is highly desirable.


Salary Banding: >$200.000
