Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Facility Design and Construction, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating capital projects, overseeing the inception, budgeting, design and construction activities between users and partners and design consultants and contractors through to project completion and go live. The Senior Project Manager monitors and coordinates construction activities of a scale, quantity, complexity or sophistication that distinguishes the work from a Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager maintains the project budgets and schedule and has the primary responsibility for change management. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for communicating project status, health and potential risks to appropriate levels of FD & C and MaineHealth leaders.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: A professional level of knowledge in engineering, design concepts, plant operations and maintenance normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. License/Certifications: License to practice architecture or engineering in the State of Maine preferred.
3. Experience: Knowledge of and experience with the International Building Code, Life Safety Code, ADA, AIA contract documents, asbestos abatement, electrical, mechanical/plumbing and building maintenance, HVAC and energy conservation, and FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities.
4. Knowledge of AIA contracts, forms and procedures, necessary to enter into a legal agreement with an architectural consultant and/or contractor.
5. Knowledge of the current literature, trends, and developments in the field of architecture and engineering as they relate to the healthcare industry.
6. Knowledge of the basic principles of supervision, organization, and administration.
7. Knowledge of basic accounting principles of credits and debits necessary to maintain project budgets.
8. Knowledge of construction estimating practices.
9. Ability to express ideas clearly, orally, in writing, as well as graphically through drawings and sketches.
10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital employees and outside hospital contacts.
11. Knowledge and basic understanding of the C-ritical path Method (C PM) of project scheduling.
12. Familiarity with building systems and healthcare equipment and the ability to manage projects at a level normally acquired through approximately 10 years of related experience.
13. Knowledge of construction means and methods.
14. Ability to express ideas clearly, orally, in writing, as well as graphically through drawings and sketches
15. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital employees and outside hospital contacts
16. Ability to organize, lead, and document project-related meetings and engage with all stakeholders and project participants.
17. Knowledge of computer systems with specific experience in Microsoft Word, Power Point, MS Project, Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam.

Additional Information

The pay range for this position is $104,956.80 to $141,980.80 per year.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
