Senior Project Manager, Data Centers-Construction

What this job involves:

Leading the successful delivery of fast-track data center and mission-critical projects. The SPM is responsible for project oversight, technical coordination, stakeholder management, and delivery execution across assigned engagements. This role works independently and provides support and guidance to less experienced project managers across project teams to drive project performance, operational alignment, and consistent execution standards. This role may also include people management.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

Project Delivery & Oversight
  • Lead projects and successful execution across assigned projects, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Generate solutions for project risks, escalations, and execution challenges through effective coordination and engagement of the appropriate support resources.
  • Manage project planning, procurement, financials, and contract execution across fast-track or phased delivery models.
  • Maintain exemplary performance across all Project Manager responsibilities.


Team Leadership & Development
  • Contribute to department growth through mentorship, technical leadership, process improvement, and knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate and support the work of PMs, APMs, and Project Coordinators across assigned engagements to maintain delivery consistency, project controls, and execution standards.
  • May provide people management, including coaching, performance management, workload coordination, and professional development.


Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and cultivate effective working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders that span multiple project engagements.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and resolution of complex project coordination, communication, escalation, and execution challenges.


Technical Coordination, Quality & Compliance
  • Promote and enforce site safety requirements and safe work practices across assigned projects and teams.
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and execution standards are consistently maintained across assigned projects and staff.
  • Lead coordination of complex technical execution and operational planning activities, including commissioning, shutdown planning, MOP development, and energized work coordination.


Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 7+ years of project management experience in data center construction environments, including leadership of complex infrastructure or capital projects.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale ($50M+), technically complex projects with demanding schedules and mission critical MEP infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and technical stakeholders within active operational environments.
  • Experience managing project financials, procurement activities, and contract execution across complex project delivery models.
  • Strong working knowledge of mission-critical MEP systems, critical power/cooling infrastructure, and commissioning practices.
  • Strong communication, coordination, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects within fast-track, high-pressure, or ambiguous delivery environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with project management, scheduling, and financial management tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, as needed.


Preferred:
  • Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, CCM, CDCP®, or DCDC®.
  • Experience with design-build, EPC, or accelerated/parallelized schedule delivery models on large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with mission-critical infrastructure systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and building management systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, testing, and commissioning protocols for 24/7 mission-critical operations.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent or geographically distributed sites with notable complexity and financial exposure.
  • Demonstrated ability to recover or stabilize projects facing schedule, technical, or execution challenges.

Estimated compensation for this position:

169,730.00 - 208,010.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
