About this Role

HBK Engineering is seeking Senior Project Manager for the Civil Engineering team based in Chicago. This position leads, supports, and directs teams consisting of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems. This senior management role involves leading teams to identify all project risks and develop mitigation strategies while working on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues. The position requires managing, supervising, and scheduling execution of programs while monitoring productivity, quality, financial health, and progress with comprehensive oversight responsibilities.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, support, and direct teams consisting of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in design, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems
  • Lead teams to identify all project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies
  • Work on challenging assignments including investigating, troubleshooting, and solving engineering and construction-related issues
  • Prepare, review, and approve proposals, contracts, and cost estimates with senior management authority
  • Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget while managing financials and metrics related to projects
  • Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants and clients
  • Manage, supervise, and schedule execution of programs with comprehensive oversight
  • Monitor productivity, quality, financial health, and progress of programs across multiple projects
  • Lead safety initiatives as needed by the organization and ensure program safety compliance
  • Report all project and program updates to clients and make recommendations based on professional education and experience
  • Manage, develop, mentor, and evaluate resources within the organization
  • Train Project Coordinators, Senior Project Coordinators, and Project Managers in best practices and methodologies
  • Travel as required for project needs and client engagement
  • Coordinate with area agencies, municipalities, and governing jurisdictions for project approvals
  • Utilize advanced software proficiency in AutoCAD, Deltek, and SharePoint for project management
  • Lead engineering design teams through all phases of project designs with comprehensive oversight.
