Full Job Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing project changes throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This role serves as a strategic leader, ensuring that scope, schedule, budget, and documentation changes are effectively identified, evaluated, approved, implemented, and closed out while maintaining project objectives and client expectations.
  • The Senior Project Manager collaborates with internal teams, general contractors, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders to drive project success through effective change management, contract administration, document control, and operational excellence. This position requires strong leadership, construction expertise, financial acumen, and proficiency with project management technologies.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Change Management
  • Lead the development, evaluation, and implementation of project change management strategies.
  • Review, initiate, and approve proposed changes to project scope, schedule, budget, and contractual requirements.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of change orders, including identification, pricing, negotiation, execution, tracking, and closeout.
  • Assess project impacts and communicate recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures related to project modifications.
  • Monitor project risks and proactively develop mitigation plans.

Project Management & Execution
  • Direct and support project teams, including project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate project schedules, resource allocation, procurement activities, and milestone achievement.
  • Facilitate collaboration between clients, contractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring objectives are met safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Provide leadership in resolving project issues, conflicts, and operational challenges.

Contract Administration & Documentation
  • Oversee submittal processes, ensuring accurate preparation, review, submission, and tracking.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and related project documentation.
  • Manage document control processes, including drawing revisions, version control, and distribution of updated project information.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project closeout documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and submitted on schedule.

Financial Management
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls associated with change orders and project execution.
  • Support contract negotiations and cost recovery efforts related to project changes.

Technology & Reporting
  • Utilize Procore and other project management software to manage project workflows, documentation, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain project dashboards, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Leverage Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) to communicate project status and support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project management processes through technology and automation.
  • Present project updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to executive leadership and clients.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and stakeholder satisfaction throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional project teams.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with General Contractors (GCs) and large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Knowledge of formal change management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with construction billing, invoicing, and financial forecasting.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or similar certification preferred.
