Full Job Description
Position Overview

We are looking for a bright and energetic Senior Project Engineer to be a leader in driving improvement as an Assignment Manager within the Cab Product Follow Up team. Product Follow Up is responsible for leading investigation and resolution of field quality issues, small product improvements, cost optimizations, and general product maintenance. The Assignment Manager is responsible for coordinating work for these types of projects, utilizing the Red Arrow portion of our OnePDP product development process within Traton Group. In this role, opportunities extend to working with all International product platforms as well as coordination and work on products from our other brands within Traton Group globally.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, organize, and report out on assignments
  • Learn the Traton Red General Milestones, as a part of the OnePDP process, and drive assignments thru them
  • Coordinate and lead the cross-functional team in North America and coordinate the work Globally aligning with other Traton Group R&D resources
  • Secure that the team delivers solutions for customers while balancing time, cost, and quality
  • Ensure your assignments stay on the agreed time plan and escalate as needed when they do not
  • Responsible for making sure decisions happen in a timely fashion
  • Communicate and visualize the assignment process – update in tracking systems and prepare reports as needed
  • Secure approval for expenses, investments and part price changes driven by your assignments
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 5 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

OR

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 3 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

OR

  • PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 1 year of product design/development and/or computer science experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

Desired Skills
  • Experience in truck and/or automotive design and development
  • Experience in sheet metal, injection molding, fiberglass, HVAC, and/or routing and clipping
  • Project management experience and/or training
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; to interface with suppliers and cross-functional teams to achieve timely execution of assigned projects
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and formal problem-solving techniques
  • Aptitude for learning new systems
