Global Corporate Solutions
Reporting to the Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Administrative Officer, Global Corporate Solutions (GCS) brings together the functions of Corporate Security, Corporate Real Estate, and Corporate Services.
About the Unit
GCS Corporate Services (GCSCS) is structured into three main units: (i) Travel and Client Services (GCSTC), (ii) Business Services (GCSBA), (iii) Innovation and Client Solutions (GCSIS), and (iv) Global Business Centers. Within GCSIS, the Integrated Business Solutions team (GCSIB) works with World Bank Group staff to enable the delivery of GCS' Business Services offerings (e.g. Design, Editorial Production, Interactive Media, Printing, Publications, and Translation and Interpretation) through project management, project coordination, and vendor management.
The Senior Program Manager, GCSIB, reports directly to the Manager, GCSIS, and works closely with the Manager, GCSBA.
Duties and Accountabilities
• Manages a global team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators who handle projects from all areas of GCSCS' Business Services, including creative services, editorial production, interactive media, printing, publications, and translation and interpretation. Additional services lines may be expanded in the future.
• Manages staff performance cycle, including definition of annual objectives, periodic check-ins, annual performance assessment, and career conversations.
• Under the guidance of the Manager GCSIS, define strategic priorities for the Unit, translates them into tasks and projects, and monitors delivery.
• Undertakes and leads periodic reviews and development of processes, best practices, standard operational procedures, and team workflows, to identify efficiencies and streamline, including identifying opportunities for automation and AI.
• Maintains an overarching view of GCSBA business lines, products, and services. Collaborates with GCSBA leadership and peer functions to align service delivery with strategic priorities and evolving client demands.
• Provides insights and reports on service performance, demand trends, and operational risks to inform decision-making.
• Contributes to cross-unit initiatives and ensures coordination across GCSIS and GCSBA functions.
• Provides feedback to clients on requests, proposes innovative and cost-effective solutions, and ensures all client requirements are met.
• Proactively works under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating initiative, resourcefulness, and a drive for results.
• Leads vendor management for GCSBA, including overseeing vendor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual and quality standards, and identifying opportunities to optimize cost, capacity, and service delivery across global vendor partnerships.
• Contributes to business development efforts by engaging with Country Offices and clients to understand emerging needs, promoting GCSBA offerings, and identifying opportunities to expand service uptake and strategic partnerships, including through field missions and client engagements.
Selection Criteria
• Master's degree with8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of the GCSBA products, services, capabilities, and workflows from job assessment to delivery of the finished product.
• Advanced knowledge of processes in areas of design, publications, translation, interpretation, print, interactive media, etc. in international organizations or private sector.
• Proven skills in organizing, prioritizing, scheduling, planning, and coordinating projects.
• Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated professional leadership and ability to manage teams and create an enabling environment to deliver business objectives.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills and ability to effectively present information to management.
• Demonstrated skill in tailoring oral and written communications to the needs of the situation and objectives of GCS.
• Knowledge of emerging AI technologies and their practical application in project management, process workflows, or customer service, is preferred.
• Excellent command of English. Proficiency in another UN language an advantage.
